How do tradelines work?Tradelines work by buffing-up some of the factors on your credit file. Your credit file is composed of age (account history), limit/utilization of that limit, quantity of inquiries, quantity of accounts and many other categories. To have a certain score, you need to meet certain standards in each of those categories. If one or more of those categories is low or non-existent, the score will reflect it. So by using a tradeline (or 2) that has what you need, you can buff-up those factors within your credit file and strengthen your file overall.

Can I buy the same tradeline twice? If you have already purchased a particular tradeline once in the past, unless you are still within the EXTENSION period, you must wait and entire year before you can purchase the same tradeline a second time. Extensions are a way to keep the tradeline you purchased on your file for a longer time. The extension price is the same price you paid originally. (if the price has increased due the tradeline having aged, you will not be charged the higher price) Purchasing an extension will double the amount of time the tradeline will remain reporting to your credit file. An extension must be purchased within a specific timeframe. If you are interested in extending your tradeline, feel free to reach out to inquire if an EXTENION is still available on your tradeline. What if I have negative Items on my file?Negative items or derogatory marks will pull down your score and so their presence may lessen the effects of a tradeline. So, if you have negative items on your credit, it is always best to undergo credit repair or resolve those items first, before adding tradelines. That way, you will optimize the affect of your tradeline. In some situations you cannot remove the negative items. In this case, the tradeline may still help you by adding age or limit, etc, but because your negative items are still present, they will continue to pull down your score even after the tradeline is added. * Negative items are: Late payments, missed payments, charge-offs, accounts sent to collections, bankruptcies, short sales, deeds in lieu of foreclosure, and foreclosures

Why is the closing date important? The closing date of a Tradeline is very important when purchasing. You must be added to your desired tradeline BEFORE the closing date of the current month for it to post. This is because the "closing date" is the date the bank associated with your Tradeline will compile all the information from the month (including the fact you were added to the account) and export it to the bureaus. A tradeline will only report on YOUR credit file AFTER that closing date listed.

Will the tradeline increase my score? It is a common misconception that a tradeline directly affects your credit score. Rather, tradelines work by buffing up the credit factors (credit history, utilization of total credit limits, quantity of accounts, payment history, etc) on your credit file. In short - tradelines fill deficiencies in your file. For a strong file and a high credit score, your credit file must have a certain composition. You can use tradelines to add to your average age, lower your utilization, increase your limits, or add to the quantity of accounts and perfect payment history. All these things will help to strengthen your file. When the algorithm calculates your credit score, if you added the appropriate tradeline(s) for your file, then the algorithm should typically score you higher.

If I have a mostly blank or new file? How many tradelines do I need? For generally good credit you want to have a minimum of 3 accounts reporting. - 5 or more - is better. While your credit report has less than 3 accounts reporting, your file will carry the label "thin file" and some lenders may deny you based on this fact alone. This is why it is always best to bulk-up your credit file before applying for a primary account. Many of our clients achieve the 3 account minimum by purchasing 2 tradelines and adding a credit builder account or obtaining a secured card. You can choose to build your credit many different ways. How do I know which tradeline to buy?To know which tradeline is best for you - you first need to know where you are starting from. You can do this by looking at your credit factors on Credit Karma (not exact, but a good estimate). Tradelines can add to your average age, your total limits, and to the quatity of accounts on your file. If your average age is low - you will need to purchase a tradeline with age If your utilization is high - you need to add a tradeline with higher limits If your limits are low - you need to add a tradeline with higher limits If you have less than 3 accounts - you may want to consider adding more than one tradeline.

Does limit matter when deciding on a tradeline? When deciding on which tradeline to purchase you should always consider both the age and the limit. your score is calculated by an algorithm that computes a score based on the factors in your file. those factors are your age, limits, utilization of limits, quantity of accounts, etc. So the short answer is yes, limit matters. To get into the detail of how much limit you may need to add (in regard to tradelines) we need to look at how the FICO scoring model calculates limit. 30% of your score is AVAILABLE CREDIT. This would be the total credit minus the amount of credit you have used. if your available credit is low (meaning your utilization is probably high) adding a higher-limit tradeline may help to strengthen you file.

Do you sell Business Tradelines? Not necessarily. Authorized User (AU) tradelines cannot be added to a business or EIN directly. However, there is a strategy to consider: AU tradelines CAN be used for Business by adding them to your personal credit file. Then, use that personal file as the personal guarantor to procure the business credit.

My tradeline is only showing on one bureau, why?The first thing to consider is that all 3 of the credit bureaus are their own separate companies. So, they run their operations independently of one another. It is typical for each bureau to cycle up their reports within about a week or so of each other. (This should resolve on its own during the typical posting window when the reports refresh) Also, be sure to check the last report update date on the report you are looking at. Sometimes, the report you are looking at is not the most current and so you will not see the tradeline posted because the report you are viewing hasn't updated yet to reflect it. (some credit monitoring services update monthly, if this is the case, you may need to wait until the report updates next or purchase a "refresh" to see the tradeline reflected) The other possible reason is that there is an inconsistency in personal information on your reports (Name, dob, ssn, address, phone, email) If their is an inconsistency between what you submitted for your tradeline order, and what is listed on the reports, the bureau cannot post the tradeline. (This is why it is so important to check your reports before submitting your personal information for the tradeline order. That due-diligence ensures what you provide for the order is the same on each of the 3 bureaus credit reports and therefore avoids this posting issue.) The last possibility is there was an alert, active dispute, freeze, or lock present on one or more of your credit files. If any of those inhibitors are present - updates to your report (like a tradeline) may not be permitted.

Can I Extend my Tradeline for longer?Extensions are a way to keep the tradeline you purchased on your file for a longer time. The extension price is the price you paid originally. (if the price has increased due the tradeline having aged, you will not be charged the higher price) Once you purchase the extension the duration will double. (ie: if your tradeline was a 2 month tradeline - you will now have 4 consecutive months of posting). An extension must be purchased before you have been removed as a user. If you are interested in extending your tradeline, just ask to see if an extension on your tradeline is still available.

What happens when the tradeline expires?Once the duration is complete you will be removed as a user. The tradeline will most likely remain on your file but it will no longer be active. This means that from the point you are removd as a user, the effects the tradeline had on your score will begin to fade.
